About Us
It all started in 2000 with Steve and Joan Harradine, one lorry and Steve’s determination to be a ‘man of his word’.
As the haulage business grew, Steve’s wife Joan and sons Bryn and Rick pitched in. Customers loved their commitment to good, honest service and the kind of dedication that makes a family-run business special.
Since then the S R Harradine team has grown to 25. But Steve and Joan are still in the driving seats, and those same values still make the firm tick. Most of the drivers have been with the company for years, and all of them share the boss’s commitment to great service.
The Harradine difference
Three big beliefs drive us. The difference they make is why our customers choose us.
- Tell us once.
We work as a team. Whoever you speak to in our office, they’ll know your job.
- We work around you.
We always try to schedule your job at the best time for you. We plan around your day.
- Honesty is best.
When – rarely – something doesn’t go to plan, we let you know what’s happening, so you’re never left waiting.
Haulage heroes on the road
When you see one of our tippers approaching your job, you’ll notice it sports not one but two names.
On the grill, you might see “Joan Heather”. On the bumper, “Duffy”. Why’s that?
We take pride in our fleet of 20 tippers – they’re part of the team. From Steve’s first day on the job, every new tipper has been named after a member of the family.
And we’re proud of our drivers, most of whom have been with us for years. So we put their name on their tipper’s bumper.
Our vehicles are part of the family. While they spend most of their days moving materials, they have been known to take beloved daughters to proms and to wear pink bows for Cancer Research.
Haulage heroes in the community
We believe that businesses should give back to their local area. That’s why we support Earith Primary School and Earith United Football Club. Our financial support has helped buy everything from high-tech interactive whiteboards to team kit.
Haulage heroines
The transport and haulage industry is notoriously male-dominated. Not so at S R Harradine. Joan Harradine leads on all aspects of the administration of the business. Meanwhile waste management is handled by Shardae and Health and Safety by Rachel. This exceptional female team was profiled, along with driver Tania, by Transport Monthly.
